Supper and Roomie Gift

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Today I am sharing another picture I took last weekend.

This dapper guy was just having his supper while I was sitting near the lake and I got a chance to snap several pictures of him. I loved this close up, so I had to share. He was only about 10 feet away, so I had a blast taking picture after picture of him. Thank goodness for digital cameras.

Now on to today's share. I made this for my VC Rocks! roomie, Karen. I cased it from another demo, not completely, I don't think, but pretty

much the same. I just loved the idea and the colors and it was right up my alley, style wise, so I went with it, I also knew Karen has alot of the same likes with Stampin' Up! stuff as I do, so I knew she would like it.

Colors used are Marina Mist, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. I also used some Marina Mist and Crumb Cake Seam Binding and some Victoria Lace. The Four Frames, Elements of Style and French Script stamp sets were used, and the trimmed down note pad fits inside of one of Stampin' Up! stamp cases. Did you know you can buy a set of five in the catty? They make great altered gifts!

Okay, so check out the inside in the picture below, and you can see how I decorated the inside. I had to have the note pad trimmed down, to fit, but I just love how this turned out.
Don't you?

Thanks for dropping in again today. Enjoy your weekend, what's left of it, and come back soon.

hugs,

Gator and Pinwheel

Hi, and happy Thursday! Hope you have had a great week so far. Wanted to share a picture I took over the weekend. Isn't he just the cutest?
NOT!!! He was just lurking there, quietly. Gave me the creeps, I tell ya.

I do love to take pictures of wildlife, all types, scenery, flowers, etc. so I will continue to share from time to time. I hope you don't mind.

Now, I know pictures of gators are not the reason you stopped by today, so please look at the next picture to see today's share.

I have never made a pinwheel card before, GASP! But after taking a class through VC Rocks! this summer, I decided I had to make
one. Shari's instructions were so easy to follow, I made this pinwheel in probably one minute, and look how cute it turned out.

I used one of Stampin' Up!s paper print packs for the DSP, not sure which one, Brights, I suppose, since the colors are Pacific Point, Real Red and Daffodil Delight. LOL. makes perfect sense. Curly Cute is the stamp set used for the sentiment. A Rhinestone Brad and some Whisper White Card Stock finishes it off.

Thanks for stopping by today! See ya later, alligator!

3D Fun

Hi, and Happy Tuesday!! I'm back, again, lol.

Today I have a real quick post for you. It is
a gift I made for my VC Rocks! roomie, Karen.

Made from an old CD.

The sentiment says: A best friend is someone
who brings out the best in you. and is from the
Full of Life stamp set.
I used the Blossom Petal Builder Punch for the
flower, adding a flower brad to the center, the
Tasteful Trim Die and my Big Shot for the rick
rack, Baja Breeze Seam Binding for the hanger,
the DSP is called Just Add Cake, and I finished
it off by adding some rhinestones for the bling
factor.

I thought is turned out pretty cute. I just love
this kind of recycling. Don't you?

Well, thanks for dropping in today. Have a
great one! Hugs,

Final 2011 VC Rocks! Blog Hop! Punches Galore

Hi everyone, and welcome to the final BlogHop for the 2011 VC Rocks! season. This has been another fantastic VC Rocks! year and it will be sad to see it go away, but it will be back next spring for more fun and Stampin' Up! style celebration. Keep an eye here,
VC Rocks Blog Home for next years dates and when you can join us for the fun, friendship and games. This is also the beginning of our blog hop. If you want to start from the beginning, or get lost along the way, that is where you may find yourself, lol. Oh, and check out the fabulous art on our home blog, too.

Now, off we go. You should have arrived here from Elaine Wright's blog, I Reckon I'll Stamp, I know she had something fabulous to share with you. Rockers are awesome stampers!!!

Here is my project for today:

My friend Melissa needed a wedding gift and wanted
a small scrapbook album, so I said I would make it.
I made labels for her pictures with the Modern Label,
Word Window, and Oval Punches.

This is the tin opened. The label in the lid is a
Mahatma Ghandi quote "Where there is love,
There is life.

Colors used are Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze, and
Chocolate Chip. Front and back covers were
stamped with Versamark and embossed with
Clear Embossing Powder using the Elements of
Style Flourish. Pearls were added to centers of
flowers. The Monogram is from the Lovely
Letters Stamp Set.

I added a poem to the inside cover and stamped
each page with the flourish from Elements of Style.

Finished off by binding the book and adding some
Baja Breeze Seam Binding to the coils.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today. Thank you so much for hopping with us
this weekend.

Your next stop will be Kris Sobolik at Maddiebug Designs , She is sure to have something gorgeous to share with you today. Have a great day! See ya!

Open Sea

Good morning, everyone, and so sorry to have been away so long. Just can't seem to get myself
together these days. Some things have suffered and one of them is my blog. I will, however, try to get better. Just bear with me, if you will.

today's share is the birthday card I made for my wonderful husband. I used the Open Sea set from the Summer Mini catalog, and the colors are Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso. I think it turned out great.

I just love this type of card that stands up by itself, and they are so easy to make. I can't think of the name of it right off hand, though. Typical for me these days.

Thanks for coming by today. Hugs.

July VC Rocks! Blog Hop Anything But A Card

Hi all, your absent blogger here, welcoming you to this months VC Rocks! Blog Hop. This month's theme is ABC. Anything But A Card. You are sure to find some great gifts along the hop this month, so let's get started, shall we?

So, If you are following the hop, you should have hopped here by way Mary Jo Price's blog, Techno Stamper
Wasn't her project awesome? If you are just popping in and want to start at the beginning, and check out the great projects on the home page, click HERE . This will take you to the VC Rocks! blog, where you can see a list of all bloggers and start your journey.

Ok, on to my project. This is a frame that I made for my wonderful husband for Father's Day.

This is a frame, bought at a retail outlet for $1. I stamped the images from the set Delicate Doilies directly onto the frame using Versamark, then embossed with Stampin' Up's clear embossing powder. I then sponged Soft Suede ink all over the frame. Now there is some differences in the colors of the embossed images, but that must be due to the differences in the
wood itself. I'm sure it wasn't the creator, lol. I added a Thinking of You sentiment on Very Vanilla and punched it with (I believe) the Wide Oval Punch and layered it on a Decorative Label punched out of Soft Suede card stock.

My hubby loved it and the picture my daughter took of me 112.5 lbs lighter, and with my farmers tan, lol.

Ok, so that is my simple project for today. Hope you have enjoyed it. I hope to be back soon, but in the meantime it is time for you to hop on. Your next stop will be Jamie Adcock's blog, Wanna Be Creative. I'm sure she has something fabulous to show you, too.

sorry I didn't have time to put the pretty buttons up, actually I just couldn't figure it out, computer illiterate that I am. Will have them by the next hop, though.

thanks for hopping along with us. Comments are appreciated.

VC Rocks! Blog Hop Creating with the Big Shot

Welcome to this months VC Rocks! blog hop! Our theme this month is Creating with the Big Shot. So glad you could join us!

VC Rocks! is in full swing this summer with our own version of Stampin' Up! convention. we have swaps, classes, challenges, even a virtual hotel with real roomies, and loads of laughter, friendship and fun. Membership is closed for this summer, but keep an eye out next spring

to join us and have a summer to remember.

In the meantime, check out our blog, VC Rocks!. You can also go there if at any point on our hop

you get lost, for a full list of stops on this months hop. You can also start there and then go on to

the other 33 blogs, with some of the most talented papercrafters in the business.

Ok so if you are just arriving here on your hop, you should have come from Sassy Shirley's blog HERE she always has beautiful projects to show you, actually the last two posts on my blog were made by Shirley, she is awesome.

On to my project. Sorry the pictures are up on top, having some difficulty getting this right today. This little gift box was cut with the Bitty Box and Envelope Die and the trusty

Big Shot. I used Perfect Plum, Old Olive and Very Vanilla. Some retired Old Olive Striped Grosgrain for the leaves. The flower was made using the scallop circle punch.

The Bookmark gift inside the box uses some fabric I got from a fabric store, which I cut with the Scallop Circle #2 Die, then melted it with my heat gun and added an Antique Brad and the 5/8" grosgrain in Old Olive for the stem and leaves. I thought this made a great little gift, and so did the recipients. I also made a version of this with my stamp club and everyone just loved it. If you know of any readers in your life, this is a great "just because I care" gift.

Now it is time to move on. Your next stop will be Diane Clark-Sutton here. She is sure to have something fun to show you as well. Thanks for hopping with us this weekend. Hugs,

Blog Candy Won Second Installment

Today I want to show you the second bit of blog candy I received from Sassy Shirley. Isn't this gorgeous? I believe that technique is one of the prettiest I have ever seen. Even though you can see some of it, you just cannot imagine how glittery this is.

The lovely note I received with these two cards from Sassy Shirley said, "Thanks for visiting my blog for the Blog Hop- and adding a comment. Guess What? You're a winner (in more ways than one, my friend) Hugs.

Isn't that enough to make your day, week, even month? I know it made mine.

Have a beautiful day. See you soon.

VC Rocks! Blog Candy Won

I know I talk about VC Rocks! alot, but let me just say that these ladies are the nicest people you will ever meet. I have met so many new friend who are now old friends, lol, and the new ones keep coming to join us every year. It is a great way to spend the summer months, stamping, sharing ideas, classes, swaps, challenges, among other activities, and our virtual Grand Hotel is a dream, with great fun to be had at all corners. Anyway, although you have missed the date to sign up this year, I will be sharing some of the fun with you.

I won some blog candy in last months VC Rocks! Blog Hop from Sassy Shirley Here and here is one of the cards I received. It is just beautiful and the background is gorgeous.

Shirley, thank you so much for the beautiful cards. They really made my day.

Have a great day. Come back soon for the other bit of blog candy. Hugs,

Happiness Shared

Sometimes a stamp set is so beautiful that it really doesn't need much embellishing. This set, Happiness Shared, from Stampin' Up! is one of those sets. The layout of the card is a very simple layered look. I used Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, and Very Vanilla on this card. I also used a square brad and some Vanilla Ribbon.

Texture on the Daffodil layer was provided by my Big Shot and the Antique Wallpaper Embossing Folder.

The inside reads: Happiness held is the seed; happiness shared is the flower.

I just love Magnolias and have a big tree in my yard that has the most beautiful blossoms on it.

Thanks for coming by today. See you again soon.

Strength and Hope

Happy Holiday Weekend! Just a quick post today to share the matching card for the post it note holder I shared on Tuesday.

Same idea, except I just made it into a card. You can see the sponging better on the card, but the card pretty much mirrors the gift. Wouldn't these two make a great gift for someone special in your life?

Enjoy your Weekend, and come back and visit soon.

The Open Sea

WhooHoo, the weekend is almost here! So is Father's Day, and Graduation, etc. So today, In honor of both of those occasions, I have a masculine card, good for Father's Day, or for graduation for a young man.

This set is from the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog, and is called The Open Sea. It is such a fantastic set for Masculine cards. The sentiment are from, I believe, Word Play, although I am not looking at the set right now, so I could be wrong.

The new Postage Stamp Punch was used on the matching DSP to punch aout the Cherry Cobbler and Not Quite Navy postage stamps. Colors used are Not Quite Navy, Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, and Cherry Cobbler. I also used the new Cherry Cobbler/White Bakers Twine on the anchor that I cut out and mounted with Dimensionals.

This also was a partial case from another demo from Stampin' Connection. I do have original ideas, really, but sometimes you just see another card and the inspiration fairy goes to work, and believe me, I never stop her when that happens, she doesn't visit often, lol.

Have a great Thursday! Ya'll come back now, ya here? You, too, Clem!

Strength and Hope

Good Morning! Sorry for letting so many days go by without posting, time got away from me and here I am

slacking again. Hopefully today's project will make up for it.

This is an acrylic post it note holder. I really loved how it turned out. I love making gifts like this one, and except for the bow, it is absolutely stunning. I did have a nicer bow on it, after several tries, but had forgotten to measure my ribbon so off it came, and I couldn't make another to save my life, lol.

Anyway, the stamp set is called Strength and Hope, and Stampin' Up! will donate $2.00 to Breast Cancer Research for each set sold. Vintage Vogue is also used, for the small flourishes on the Background. The colors used here are Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink and So Saffron. The background is sponged with these colors over White shimmer Paint onto Glossy White Card Stock, the Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon and Pearls finish it off.

Love the look of this technique. This was a case of a card on Stampin' Connection, not sure who, sorry, I really need to write stuff like that down. I did alter it to add my own perspective to it.

Hope you enjoyed today's share. Will post again on Thursday. Thanks for coming by today. See you again soon.

Fabulous Florets

Well, it is a beautiful day here in the Sunshine State, springlike weather, unlike the summer weather we have been having. Just let me say, the 80's is so much nicer than the 90's. Not sure what to attribute it to, but I'm lovin' it just the same.

Today's card is one I made with the new Stampin' Up! set Fabulous Florets, and the new Wild Wasabi, Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango Embossing Powders. They just screamed to be embossed on Basic Black Card stock. I added some Melon Mambo PomPom Trim. The base layer is Wild Wasabi and under the black layer is a layer of Tangerine Tango. The sentiment is from Happy Greetings. The inside is also embossed with the two blossoms.

I hope you like this bright and cheerful card. Have a great day!

Won't have time to post of Thursday, but see you again on Friday.

Springtime Smiles

I know this set (Easter Blossoms) retired last month, but this is such
a beautiful set for springtime, isn't it? I really love this set and have used it many times. This card
we made at my hostess club last month.

We used Baha Breeze, Melon Mambo, Basic Black and Whisper White. Stamped the blossoms with Stazon and colored them in with Stampin' Write Markers.

The Tulip Border was used on this card also, along with some gorgeous Stampin' Up! ribbon.

Hope this card has brought a springtime smile to you. Have a great day!

Curly Cute Teen Birthday

Good Morning, and Happy Monday to you! I hope you enjoyed the VC Rocks! Blog Hop this past weekend, there were so many beautiful projects. These Rockers are awesome artists!

Today I want to share a punch art card that is so simple but would make a great card for a teen birthday.

I used Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White for this one. The Scallop Circle Die was used for the skirt, and I used my bone folder to break down the fibers to make the paper more pliable to

put the pleats in it. the Round Tab Punch was used for the bodice of the dress, with a 3/4" circle for the neck. I used some 1/8" Daffodil Delight Ribbon for the tie and a Pearl for the button.

The Tulip Border Embossing Folder was used on the Pacific Layer and the Happy Birthday from Curly Cute was stamped on Daffodil delight and cut into a

banner then stuck on with Stampin' Dimensionals to give it the banner look.

thanks for coming in today. Comments are appreciated.

VC Rocks! Blog Hop Color My World

Hi, and thanks for hopping with us today on VC Rocks! first blog hop for 2011. Today's hop theme is Color My World, and we have to use coloring of some kind on our projects.

You may have come here from Jane Hignite's awesome blog, Stamp With Jane, but if you get lost along the way you can go back to the VC Rocks! blog and find your way again, plus while you are there, check out what gorgeous project by Debbie Peterson is featured on the home page.

My first share for today is a card made with a new set from the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog called On The Grow. I just love this little scooter, it is so summery, and of course, being the girly girl that I am, I had to make it Pretty in Pink and Melon Mambo. I colored it using Stampin' Up Stampin Write Markers. They are awesome! I also added some Pear Pizazz, Daffodil Delight, Bashful Blue for the sponged sky, and Pear Pizazz Print Pattern DSP from the Level 1 Hostess Pack. I used Crystal Effects for the headlight, and Pretty in Pink 1/8" ribbon and a Pretty in Pink Brad for the sentiment which is punched with the Word Window punch.

I hope you like my little scooter. It really screams for glitter, but I forgot to add before taking the picture, so it may have to do without.

My last share for today is this gorgeous card:

This is the last card we made in class with Michelle Zindorf. We used the Nature Walk and Pocket Silhouettes stamp sets for this card and loads of Michelle's Brayering tricks to get this masterpiece. Colors used are are So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and a few others that I can't remember, lol. Hopefully I will be able to remember how to make the cards better than I can remember the colors. I just hope I can retain enough that I can make something that would make her proud. Thanks for allowing me to share these with you.

If you would like to join us at VC Rocks! you still have time to apply for membership. We are a group of wonderful ladies who are celebrating all things Stampin' Up! We chat, swap, chat, play games, chat, make wonderful friendships, swap, chat, all throughout the summer. Most of all, we have FUN! To apply for membership, go to the VC Rocks! Hi All, thanks for dropping by. Today I would love to share a card we made at my last Hostess Club. This is a very simple card, and the colors are bright, not my usual style but it's summer and I felt the brighter the better.

Colors used are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White. I also used the Build a Blossom, Word Window, Scallop Oval punches, and the Tulip Frame Embossing Folder with my trust Big Shot.

Just Believe

Hi, thanks for coming by today. I am sharing with you today a coaster I made with my hostess club. It uses the Just Believe stamp set. This is such a pretty set, and I just love how this turned out.

Colors used are Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil delight. I stamped the images and sentiment with Black Stazon. The butterfly image came from another set, and I am drawing a blank on which one, lol. It's been a long week.

What do you think? do you like it? I really did, too. I gave it to Stampin' Up! at the Orlando Regionals. Guess I really need to make myself one to use.

Have a great Monday!

Nature Walk

Ahhh, yes, it's another bird card. This set was my favorite of all the sets in the Occasions Mini, which is only good through today, so if you want this set, hop on over to my DBWS in my left side bar where it says "SHOP NOW" and order it before it's gone.

I stamped the Bird and Flowers in Early Espresso, then colored the blooms in with my Marina Mist marker. I used the Button Embosslit for the Big Shot and some matching

embroidery floss to thread the button.

The one thing that is different here is the background behind the bird, which is a Clear Stamping Block stamped onto the paper with Sahara Sand ink. This card was a partial case from another demo, and I'm sorry, but I don't remember who. It's been awhile since I made it.

Thanks for coming by today. I am off this afternoon and tomorrow to learn how to use my brayer with the amazing Michelle Zindorf. I will be back on Monday to hopefully show you some of the things she taught us. Have a great weekend.

Hi and Happy Friday! Today I would love to share a card I made while I was MIA from my blog. It uses the set Valentine Defined in the Occasions Mini Catalog. This set is

only available through April 30, so if you love it, get it while you still can.

You all know how much I love birds, so needless to say, this was one of my first must have sets from the Occasions Mini catalog.

Colors are Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Early Espresso, and Whisper White. I used the Dotted Swiss Embossing folder, and the Big Shot, plus the Scallop Oval, Large Oval and Full Heart Punches.

thanks for stopping in today, see you soon.

Another Orlando Regional Swap

This very pretty card was made by my friend Amy for the

Orlando Regionals last month. I loved the colors and the simplicity of it.

The little library clip is just adorable, isn't it? I have some and have been hoarding them, guess I'm gonna have to break them out and use them soon.

Thanks for stopping in today. See u soon.

Tiny Tea or Coffee Cup

Happy Wednesday! Here we are again! I am slowly getting

back to posting. So glad you have all been patient with me.

This is yet another one of my Orlando Regionals swaps. It

has a removable magnetic bookmark, however the card isn't

naked underneath, when you remove your little gift. I decorated the card exactly the same. Something about naked cards that bothers me, lol.

Hope you have enjoyed today's post. thanks for stopping by.

Sew Cute

Well, the sewing rage is here, and even though I can sew worth a darn, pun intended, lol, I love

this trend in papercrafting. Stampin' Up has stepped up to the plate, as they always do, with some very nice stamp sets, Designer Series Paper, Punches, and even Fabric.

This little sewing kit was one my friends and I made at a workshop recently. I thought it turned

out really adorable.

what do you think?

I apologize for the blurry image. I think you can still see how cute this is.

thanks for dropping by today, have a great day.

Hi Rockers! Hi Stamping Friends!

VC Rocks! is open! Welcome Back, Rockers! I am back, also. So sorry about the long hiatus, but so many things were happening, I had to give something up and it was, unfortunately, my blog. Hopefully I will be able to keep it up again. I will try to post at least 4 times a week, so bear with me as I restart on this blogging journey. So, for today I will share a card I made for my swaps at the Orlando Regionals. Lookie: I used Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red, Old Olive and Whisper White, some Brights Buttons, Pumpkin Pie Ribbon, The Cupcake Punch and Stamp Set and Curly Cute for the Sentiment. I also used the Swiss Dot Embossing Folder and my Big Shot. It went pretty fast in the swapping, so I guess it was a hit, lol. thanks for stopping by.

The stamp set is In Wilderness by Stampin' Up! and the colors are Early Espresso and Very Vanilla. Isn't it great?

If you want to know how to make this, let me know and I can post instructions.

Thanks for stopping by again today. We are fixing the floor in our living room this
weekend, so unless I can get Saturday's post done early, I won't have one for the entire weekend. If that happens, I will be back ASAP, so please don't give up on me, my stamping area is in my living room, so when everything gets moved out, all the stamping stuff goes with it. Please bear with me, lol.

Notably Ornate

Good Morning! How is everyone today? Is your 2011 off to a great start?

WhooHoo! Posting two days in a row. Let's see how long I can keep it up. Except for
Sundays, of course.

I have a card today that I really like, however, I would change the Chocolate Chip to Early Espresso if I make another one, but see what you think.

This is a gate fold card and you can see that better in this picture:

Isn't that little penguin just the cutest? Several demos have made this little guy, so I'm not sure who was the first. Thanks to whatever demo came up with it.

Have a great Monday! Thanks for stopping by. Hugs!
