Masculine Card

Hello there, it's FRIDAY!!!!! WhooHoo!! Today's post is going to be short and sweet, cuz I have a lot to do today. I am sharing a card today that I made a while back with a really cool technique, which for the life of me, I cannot remember the name of. Another reason for the short post, lol. This a fantastic masculine card.



I used all Stampin' Up! products on this card, In Basic Black and Vanilla, the Cheesecloth Background Stamp (retired) and another set which I cannot recall the name of, pretty sad,
huh? Anyway, I loved this card, and so did the recipient, my hubby.

Are You Ready for Some Football?

I needed a card for a friends grandson, who is into football and likes the color green. I decided to completely case a card made by my friend and Stampin' Up! sister, Gail Trask. I received this cute card in a VC Rocks! swap. It was the perfect
card for him. He loved it.



What do you think? Great masculine or kid card. Perfect for this time of year.

In The Wilderness Masculine Card

Hello! Hope you are having a fantastic weekend whether you are off having fun or just
sitting home and relaxing. Either way, thanks for spending a little of it with me.

I want to share a masculine card with you today. I don't make these often enough, and this Stampin' Up! set called In The Wilderness just calls out for these type of cards, don't ya think?



I just love this set, it would be great for scrapbooking some of the National Parks out west, too. Colors used are Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Always Artichoke, River Rock, Crumb Cake and Whisper White. What kind of masculine card would it be without the use of the Square Lattice Embossing Folder, some Hemp Twine and a button to finish it off? I love the way it turned out.

Countryside

Today I would love to share a card I made for a swap, but didn't really like, so never joined the swap. Now, I have changed my mind, I think I may like it, lol. What do you think?



Not sure what got on the right hand side of the card, but please look past that. I really think I
should have made 11 more of these and sent them in. Oh well, that's what happens.

You Rock!

As I was blog surfing one day recently, I ran across an Austrailian Demo who had made a
guitar out of punches and I had to make one. Thus, today's project. Lookie:



Colors are Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, and Brushed Silver. Very masculine, don't you
think? This would be awesome for a teenage boys birthday, or just because you think he
rocks!

Courage

Today's share is a case from the Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. Made with the

Courage set, the artist who designed it is an awesome stamper. I made these for a friend whose

hubby is retiring from Military service. Here is the card:

Gorgeous, isn't it? Check it out on page 49 of the catalog. All the projects in the catalog are easily cased. That is why it is called an Idea Book and Catalog, to give you some awesome ideas and inspire you to create something beautiful.

Countryside

Today's post is another new set from the Stampin' Up! catalog called Countryside. I just love this vintage type of set and I love the images and memories they bring to mind.

I remember using an old well like this when I was young at my Grandmothers house. Those

were much simpler times.

Father's Day Punched Golf Card

While I was at Curves on Wednesday, I met up with an old friend and she asked me to
make a card for her hubby for Father's Day. I asked what he liked and she said
"GOLF" that's all he does. So here is the card I made for her:



I used DSP from the Print Patterns III paper pad in Night of Navy and Sahara Sand
card stock. Lots of punches used on this one, too. I hope he likes it.

King For A Day

Today I will be at my local CURVES doing Father's Day cards with the ladies who come
in to work out. What could be more fun than stamping AND exercising? Well, at least
the stamping will be fun, although at Curves, exercising can be fun, too.

Here is the simple card we will be making:



It uses Ruby Red, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock and inks. I used the
Card Games Stamp set from Stampin' Up! that is on the last chance list and a sentiment
from one of my Stampin' Up! sets, but I don't know which one, but just needed it to
fit on a Large Oval punched oval.

Hostess Club Project

Hello and Happy Monday. Today's project is another of the projects we made at our
Paper Paupers meeting this past Saturday. What a great group of ladies! We had a
blast. We were concentrating on masculine projects in honor of Father's Day and along with the grill we made that I showed you on Friday, we made this wallet.

This turned out really cute and would be great for Lottery tickets, gift cards, or wallet sized photos, or just old fashioned money, lol.

Made entirely of Chocolate Chip card stock and ink.

Tool Time and Motorcycle

Another of our projects for our Paper Paupers meeting on Saturday. I just love the
Motorcycle stamp, if you haven't noticed, lol. It is such a masculine image, although
you can make it feminine if you need to. Today I paired it up with the Totally Tools
stamp set to get this card:

Anyone For a Cookout?

In honor of Father's Day, our Paper Paupers meeting will have a masculine flair this
month. We will be making gifts to give the man in your life. Our first project will be
this one that I found on Lorri Heiling's Blog Isn't this just perfect for Father's Day?



I just realized I forgot to add the wheels. Sorry about that, but you get the picture, anywho. It would be hard to move without wheels, lol. Anyway, it opens
as a box so that you could put a gift card inside for Lowe's, Home Depot, or even
Publix so that the recipient can go buy some steaks for the grill. Unfortunately,
today this particular grill is cooking burgers and hotdogs. But maybe next time, lol.

Sense of Time

Happy Friday! Hope you have all had a great week! Mine has been ok, I guess, lots going on
some of it good, some not so good. One of the good things is always stamping and scrapbooking.
If I have some time to play, I am a much happier person. It is what I enjoy, and we all need
that. Plus, my preorder from the new catalog is coming in today, complete with a new catalog
to browse through and write my novel...er I mean wish list. You will all get to see the new catalog soon, it starts in July, so don't fret. But DO get those sets and accessories that are retiring before they are gone. Check out my Demonstrator Web Site to see what is going away.

Today's card is a great masculine card made with the Sense of Time Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!
I did some serious distressing on this one, the images just lend themselves to this type of card.

Motorcycle........Yes AGAIN

This was the other card I took for my shoebox swap on Monday night. This was my third try. The other two you have seen the last few days, they were either too much for the time allotted, (the girly motorcycle card) or just not what I was looking for, (the Elements of Style spotlight card). This one fit the bill, so here you have it:



Using Motorcycle, of course and the Sentimental Journey stamp sets, Whisper White,Chocolate Chip, and More Mustard Card Stocks and Log Cabin Smooch Spritz, some distressing, and an antique brad to finish it off. Easy Peasy Chicken Squeezy! (thanks, Brandy, lol)

Fossil Stone Technique

In honor of Father's Day coming in June, I would like to show you a very unique
background technique that looks great on masculine cards. I believe it is called the Fossil Stone technique.



Isn't that a great background for a guy card? The stamp set used is the retired Nature Reserve (or Preserve) from Stampin' Up!Colors used are Creamy Caramel, and
Always Artichoke.

Here is how to get this look:

Steal(I mean borrow) a page protector from your kid.Cut down the side so that it opens like a book. Open it up.Using your stamp pad, apply ink to one side of the page protector, then put a second color on the other side. Lightly spritz with water. close page protector and mush the color around a
little. open back up and put your cardstock in and reclose. Cardstock will pick up
the color and Voila! you get this great background. If you don't like the colors you chose you may want to play around with different colors, to get a different look.

Masculine Birthday

I needed a Birthday card for a friend who loves to fish. Stampin' Up! doesn't have any fish stamps in the catalog right now, but I am hoping to see some in the new Idea Book & Catalog when it makes it's debut in July.

In the mean time, I pulled out a retired set called....Aw, Geez! I don't remember
the name of it. Someone help me out, will ya? It was on the tip of my tongue, and
I really don't want to go dig it out again. Oh, well, when I think of it, I will come
back and add it.

Another Favorite

I was playing with my stamps a couple of nights ago and made this joy fold card. I got it all finished except for the top layer, which is the focal point of the card and I decided to pull out my old stand by, Lovely As A Tree. This is probably my favorite set ever. Get it if you don't have it. You will be glad you did.



I used Chocolate Chip, Kraft, and Always Artichoke card stock, Chocolate Chip Ink, The Eyelet Border Punch, and the Lovely As A Tree and Vintage Labels stamp sets. Only 10 more days to get the Vintage Labels for free during Sale A Bration. I also used a retired Stampin' Up! Background stamp, but the name eludes me at the moment.

Lovely as an Oak Tree

Masculine cards come hard for me. Not sure why. That is one of the great things about the Stampin' Up! set called Lovely as a Tree. You can use it for masculine cards, heck, you can use it for any kind of card, it's just that kind of set. Gorgeous! What's not to like about trees?



Not sure what's up with the color on this one, it is in Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, and Creamy Caramel. A little distressing there on the bottom of the card, getting out my frustrations, wadding it up, spraying it with water, etc. and Voila! you have a masculine card.

Here Goes.........

Ok, not to be left off the bandwagon, I (with help from my daughter) am starting a blog. Not sure anyone will want to read anything I have to post, but maybe someone may want to see some of my creations.

I may from time to time throw in a photo or two that I have taken, particularly of flowers, birds, nature in general, and my family.

I know there are so many wonderful stamping blogs out there, but if you will stick with me as I learn this
blogging thing (evidently you can teach an old dog new tricks) I just might surprise you.


This card is one I made for a VC Rocks! (an awesome yahoo group) swap titled "FACES" and
since a clock has a face, I used the Sense of Time set from Stampin' Up! I did a bunch of
distressing on this card using the SU distressing tool, and I think it turned out pretty good.
